CARLSBAD: Second Alarm Structure Fire 9/30/12

Carlsbad firefighters responded to reports of flames showing from a apartment complex at 1060 Chinquapin Ave in Carlsbad around 5:00 PM. When they arrived, the whole structure was fully engulfed as flames spread to the attic in three different apartments. The decision was then made to bring in an additional alarm due to the fire's rapid growth to other units. After 30 minutes, firefighter had the blaze under control. The Red Cross was called in to assist with 10 adults and 4 children that were displaced in the fire.
