A shooting victim is lucky to be alive tonight after dodging bullets at a park near the intersection of N Vulcan and Sanford in Encinitas. The shootout occurred just after 10:30 inside the park when nearby neighbors heard 8 gunshots and tires screeching on the pavement as the shooter fled south on N Vulcan and the victims fled northbound on N Vulcan. The victims stopped to a nearby 7-11 gas station and reportedly called for help there. The car they were in had bullet holes in the rear window and the front fender was partially damaged after speeding away from the shooting scene at the skate park. From there, the only victim that got shot was treated by medics on scene and transported to Scripps Encinitas for minor facial lacerations after he dodged the bullet. Pretty lucky if you ask me!
