VISTA: 2nd Alarm Vegetation Fire with Structures Threatened

Firefighters from Vista, Oceanside, and San Marcos have had a busy night as they dealt with not one, but two vegetation fires about 1/10th of a mile away from each other. The first fire broke out shortly after 7:00 PM on the side of I78 west of Sycamore Dr. The second fire broke out WB 78 just before Mar Vista. The Battalion chief ordered a second alarm which brought in units from  San Marcos and Oceanside to assist with the 2 acre blaze (each fire was 2 acres!!!) CHP helped handle traffic along the freeway.
